The workshop drew participants from East, West, North, South and Central Africa.

e-Learning gurus
I am creating this space to get the links to the most renowned e-Learning practitioners across the globe.
If you are one of them or if you know someone who is constantly engaged in eLearning research, kindly provide a URL for their work or contacts (e-mail, website) or both.
I have been greatly inspired by the works of Janet Clarey of Brandon Hall Research since I first saw her work in 2008.

TECHNICAL SUPPORT IN E-LEARNING
Developing e-Learning content in a subject that is not your specialisation can be a daunting task for two reasons:
(i) You don't know the content or even the assessment type to include in a module
(ii) You are not familiar with the vocabulary used in the subject for which you are developing eLearning.
As I worked through developing the Strategic Leadership Development Programme I had a very fruitful day with Mr. Malinda (subject matter expert) and Mr. Kitui (systems administrator). Mr. Malinda helped with ensuring that the content is correct in both form and structure and is flowing. He will also develop assessments in the five-module SLDP course. Mr. Kitui on the other hand wrote an e-mail to our ISP to provide a subdomain dedicated to eLearning. The e-mail was copied to me and the Deputy Director Business Development Division. He will also assist in loading moodle on our servers so that content that is being developed can be loaded there. So, clearly eLearning is not a one-man's show.
We shall work together with the subject matter expert and the Systems administrator for the next 10 or so days so that we meet the deadline of starting a pilot programme for the SLDP course in February 2009 targeting the KIA management. Thereafter e-Learning shall be officially launched at KIA. Before the pilot programme can start, tutors have to be identified for each of the five modules, each module tentatively taking two weeks.
